Creative IQ is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in our care. This policy aligns with the Children Acts 1989/2004, KCSIE 2023, and Working Together to Safeguard Children
1) Key Commitments:
- Provide safe, inclusive environments for children.
- Recognise, report, and respond to concerns quickly.
- Train all staff in safeguarding expectations.
2) Types of Abuse:
- Physical, emotional, sexual, and neglect.
3) Signs to Watch:
- Behaviour changes, unexplained injuries, concerning disclosures.
4) Reporting:
- Staff report concerns to DSL immediately.
- In emergencies, call 999.
- All records are securely kept and reviewed.
5) Safer Recruitment:
- DBS, ID, references, and safeguarding training are mandatory.
6) Allegations Against Staff:
- Report to DSL or LADO if allegation concerns the DSL.
- Immediate support and investigation follow.
7) Staff Code of Conduct:
- Respect, dignity, and appropriate boundaries.
- No physical contact unless necessary for safety.
9) Confidentiality:
- Only shared with those who need to know.
- Records securely stored.
10) Whistleblowing:
- Staff must report unsafe practices.
- Protection is provided for those who raise concerns.
11) Review:
- Policy is reviewed annually or after any incident.
